The Hands Behind the Clay

A journey of finding purpose through art.

My Story

I am Aline Albuquerque, a ceramic artist based in Cascais, Portugal. My journey with clay began as a search for stillness in a busy world.

Ikigai means "a reason for being"—a concept that resonates deeply with my work. Each piece I create is an exploration of purpose, grounding me in the present moment.

My studio is my sanctuary where I transform raw earth into vessels that carry the energy of my hands and the fire of the kiln.

Wabi-sabi Philosophy

"Beauty in imperfection, impermanence, and incompleteness."

My work embraces the organic irregularities of handmade ceramics. A slight asymmetry, a rough texture, or an unpredictable glaze drip—these are not flaws, but the voice of the clay itself.
